  • Focuses on providing Black communities with dementia education, advocacy and caregiver support

 

Alzheimer’s Association (AA)

  • Offers culturally relevant education, support groups and resources for Black families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias

 

Black Men’s Brain Health Initiative

  • Focuses on brain health education and research tailored to Black men

 

Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) – African American Dementia Resources

  • Offers peer-led support and resources to empower people living with dementia and their caregivers

Dementia Spring

  •  Spotlights artists from diverse backgrounds to raise awareness, promote dignity and create a greater sense of belonging for individuals experiencing dementia

Expose Dementia

  • Provides legal and financial planning resources for Black seniors and their caregivers

 

National Institute on Aging

  • Provides science-based information on dementia, caregiving and clinical trials for Black communities

 

The Balm in Gilead – Brain Health Center for African Americans

  • Offers faith-based initiatives to promote brain health and support caregivers in Black churches

Trial Match

  • Offers a free matching service that connects individuals living with cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia, caregivers and healthy participants with current research studies. 

 

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

  • Provides information about caregiver resources, Social Security benefits, Medicare enrollment and Medicaid coverage
